Germany reaches 40% renewables

If you include nuclear, more than 53% of electricity generation now comes from non-carbon sources.

You can see the original interactive charts at Fraunhofer ISE.  In 2010 just 19% came from renewables, in 2017 38%.  The percentage in 2018 would have been higher if there hadn't been a decline in hydro power as a result of the very hot summer.  This trend would  mean Germany only reaches 100% renewables by 2050.  However, a commission in Germany is now considering how to close down all remaining coal power stations over the next decade.
