Social distancing worked in 1918

During the 1918 "Spanish" flu crisis, somewhere between 50 and 100 million people died around the world, far more than died in the world war which ended in November 2018.

Cities That Went All In on Social Distancing in 1918 Emerged Stronger for It.

They had lower mortality rates from the influenza pandemic.  But it also appears that their economies fared better, too.

If the Liberal Party treated WW1 like climate change

Australia's Liberal and National Parties have been climate denialists for decades.  The enormous extent and severity of the recent bushfires has forced them to pretend they believe in climate change,  though they're still trying to say that it was 'arsonists' that caused the bushfires not record droughts and record temperatures caused by global warming.  Australia only emits 1.3% of world emissions they say, so we should do nothing.  Also we must sell more coal, because .....
