The Federal workforce size since 1939

The Right is apoplectic about all the people who work for the Federal Government.  Like so much of what they say, it's piffle.  Currently, it's under 2% of the total workforce.   And the absolute numbers have been more or less flat for 50 years. (The spikes are temporary employment for the decennial census)

Not satire

At first, I thought this was satire.  But it appears to be true.  Donald Trump has declared his own inauguration day "National Day of Patriotic Devotion".  Good grief.
