This has to be one of the best renewables charts around.
In just 5 years, a whole swag of countries has moved from the cheapest electricity generation technology being coal and gas to being wind and solar. And note that some of those in the 'cheap coal' category (Indonesia, Poland) are burning brown or low-quality coal which is much more environmentally unfriendly than black coal. Note that renewables are now cheaper in the majority of countries shown, whereas in 2014 wind and solar were cheaper in only 3 countries.
I predict that in another 5 years, there will be no countries in the two left-hand columns.
