The BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) have on average for 20 years grown more strongly than the OECD countries. At 21% of world GDP, combined, they contribute about the same to world GDP as the USA or Europe.
As you can see in the chart below, after a pause where their weighted PMI stopped falling, in June there was a bigger decline—not yet to the "recession mark of 50%", but heading that way. IP (industrial production) is likely to follow suit.
