For some countries, lockdown may end by the end of April. For others, it hasn't really begun. After lockdown ends the strict testing and isolation regimes used by Korea and other SE Aasian nations is the way it will be stopped going forward. But borders will remain closed until lockdown countries are sure the pandemic is over globally, not just in their countries. Cases in the UK still rising, but should peak soon. Cases in the US, despite a one day decline, likely still increasing, since there is no national lockdown, and state borders are porous. Rest of the world? Countries which are imprisoning ppl for reporting high death tallies likely have high death tallies. Lockdown means starvation in most third-world countries. Expect the death toll there, mostly unmeasured, to keep on rising.
The good news is that lockdown works. And it gives us a breathing space to make tests, masks and ventilators.
