From Kees van der Leun
Many people think that world population is growing exponentially. It's not. It has been growing by 79-85 million people every year since 1992. That's linear, for all practical purposes. The highest absolute [linear] growth in world population was in 1988, when it grew by 92.9 million. That's 33 years ago. The highest relative [percentage, i.e., logarithmic] growth in world population was in 1968 and 1969, when it grew by 2.09%. That has roughly halved now.
