US EV/PHEV sales double. Again.

The rollout of the Tesla Model 3 has led to EV/PHEV sales doubling year on year in September after doubling yoy in August and in July, reaching 2.7% of total US car and light truck sales.  Just a year ago, this percentage was barely above 1%.

Note that the scales in the top two charts below are NOT logarithmic, which means a constant growth rate will show as an ever steepening curve.  If the growth rate has accelerated--which it has--then the curve is steeper still.  The flexion point in the EV-adoption S-curve has passed.  But I expect month on month, sales might not grow much or at all in October, as Tesla gathers its breath.  They'll still be double last year's, though.
