Record heat in Madrid

There is yet another extraordinary, record heatwave hitting western Europe.   Again.

From a tweet by Scott Duncan, a meteorologist based in London.

Historic heat in Madrid, Spain. We just observed the warmest night on record. Temperatures did not drop below 26.2°C (79.2°F) and then daytime temperatures went on to equal the all-time (any month) heat record for the Spanish capital with 40.7°C (105.3°F). The all-time (any month) heat record for Madrid was only set in August last year. This weather station is over 100 yers old.

Heat in Madrid peaked on 14 July 2022 and equaled the all-time (any month) record from last year. The record set last year didn't even last 12 months.
