Disclaimer. After nearly 40 years managing money for some of the largest life offices and investment managers in the world, I think I have something to offer. These days I'm retired, and I can't by law give you advice. While I do make mistakes, I try hard to do my analysis thoroughly, and to make sure my data are correct (old habits die hard!) Also, don't ask me why I called it "Volewica". It's too late, now.

BTW, clicking on most charts will produce the original-sized, i.e., bigger version.

Not so fun

In the US, the corporate tax take has slid dramatically in percentage terms.

  1. Thanks for getting back to updating Volewica. I appreciate your insights into economics, especially things that are seldom mentioned elsewhere, like the set of diagrams demonstrating the failure of American capitalism.

The statistics on this post are revealing, but the graph is misleading. The 1/10th pie segment is a lot less than 1/10th, making it look a lot worse. Imagine the segment from 12 to 1 on a clock, 1/12th of the whole, to see how far off it is.

    1. How clever of you to notice that. Talk about lies, damned lies and statistics.
